Structure of the course of study	The course structure is based on two semesters (each of 13 weeks duration). • 80 credit points of core units To qualify for award of Graduate Diploma of Counterterrorism Leadership a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 80 credit points, including satisfactory completion of the core units noted below.

• Advanced and integrated knowledge of counterterrorism leadership scholarship and practice, public service and police agencies for counterterrorism.

• Apply advanced and coherent crisis communication skills and partnerships to guide, lead and mentor others in advanced areas of counterterrorism; • Apply digital literacy skills to search and critically appraise the existing literature for professional development and career acceleration in policing for counterterrorism leadership; • Critically reflect, synthesise and evaluate data, intelligence and decision-making in counterterrorism management; • Operate at an advanced level of personal and professional autonomy for leading, guiding and mentoring others in public service and leadership in counterterrorism; • Utilise professional skills for leadership and ethical conduct in counterterrorism leadership.

Domestic Students:
Completion of an AQF Level 7 or above higher education qualification (or equivalent) in any discipline and at least two years relevant industry experience.

International Students:
Completion of an AQF Level 7 or above higher education qualification (or equivalent) in any discipline and at least two years relevant industry experience. International student applicants whose entry qualifications were obtained in an institution where English is not the language of instruction normally require an International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) of 6.5, with a score of not less than 6.0 in any of the four skill areas, or equivalent.

Note:International students must hold a valid student visa. There are numerous conditions that apply to a student visa. In particular, a holder of a student visa may not work, paid or unpaid, for more than 40 hours in any fortnight during semester time. Special or Alternative Admission Arrangements
Special admission pathways are open for educationally disadvantaged applicants and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for entry to the course, may be considered for alternative entry on the basis of higher education study equivalent to at least two units of study successfully completed at a registered Australian higher education institution or an overseas educational institution assessed as being equivalent by GLI.

Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
Credit for previous learning may be obtained through the processes of articulation, credit transfer and recognition of prior learning or a combination of these processes. Requests for credit for previous study or RPL should be submitted with the Application Form. Students who have successfully completed accredited study or courses at recognised tertiary institutions may apply for a Transfer of Credit. A certified copy of an official transcript detailing studies undertaken must be submitted with the Credit Transfer and RPL Application Form. Once you have chosen your course, you will need to apply direct to GLI. Applications typically close three weeks before semester commences. The Admission Form is completed online. You may be entitled to credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning or various kinds of work and life experience. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree. Once you have returned a signed copy of your Letter of Offer to accept your place at GLI, you will be invited to enrol in your specific units in the next academic period. Students are advised to consult their timetable and contact a Student Support Officer for tailored academic advice before completing the enrolment form. Applications for credit transfers or recognised prior learning will be communicated to you once they have been processed.
